Programming as Communication
A free introductory course on talking to computers.
Fourteen chapters and six appendices that teach non-programmers to read, direct, and check code in the age of AI — built around interactive demos instead of lectures. Ordering food is easy; this course is about learning to cook.
Most people will never need to write software from scratch — but nearly everyone now works with software that writes software. This course teaches the part that doesn’t age: how to state what you want precisely, decompose a problem, read what the machine gives back, and check it.
It runs right here on this site as fourteen chapters plus six appendices, each built around small interactive widgets you can poke at instead of paragraphs you scroll past.
